Some aspects of the history of formation and development of the scientific community for studying of fossil reefs in the USSR and Russia

We analyzed the history of the fossil reefs study expressed in various thematic conferences and accompanying field geological sessions, general publications on this problem, starting from the mid-60s of the last century. The role of individual researchers in the development of the reef theme is noted.
