Some aspects of the concept «New regionalism» by B. Hettn

This paper considered an issue of defining the concept of “regionalism” and presented an interdisciplinary approach to the term coined by the contemporary Swedish researcher B. Hettne, who introduced into the academic turnover a concept of “new regionalism”. In addition, the study noted that regionalism is increasingly perceived as part to the challenges of globalization, being one of key elements of the latter and the source of generating a new world order. Today, with an increased attention drawn to the issue of globalization some relevant concepts emerge involving new terms and the scholarly approaches enabling researchers trying to perceive the ongoing global developments. A brand new term “regionalism” is exactly promising one that researchers place hopes on, in describing the current standing and prospects of the global world order.
