Public associations and other non-profit organizations involving foreign parties are a special category of entities that are engaged in political activities and receive foreign funding. As a general rule, any international intervention in the political sphere of the Russian Federation is prohibited, that is why it is important to study the aspects of the constitutional and legal status of foreign agents. The research reveals that the constitutional and legal status of public associations and other non-profit organizations involving foreign parties is determined by a large number of regulations that can contradict each other and lead to corruption. Besides, the author identifies the objective necessity to introduce the special mechanism to regulate the constitutional and legal status of foreign agents in the modern Russian law. The research substantiates the difference between the constitutional and legal status of non-profit organizations acting as foreign agents and the status of other non-profit organizations due to their specific scope of activity (political field) and the source of funding (foreign entity).
