Some aspects of procedural seizure (copy) of electronic information carriers

The development of information technologies requires the introduction of new categories into law. In criminal proceedings in Russia there are new procedural concepts that define processes based on electronic technologies. However, innovations are not without drawbacks. The article discusses the concept and characterized by types of electronic carriers of information. Attention is drawn to the peculiarities of the procedure of seizure. The article analyzes the provision of the law on the possible copying of information during the seizure. The conclusion about the need to improve the criminal procedure law in this aspect is formulated.
