Some aspects of the iron-and-steel industry development and their impact on the metal manufacture in Russia

The article reviews the global development trends of the iron and steel industry in the context of their influence on the metal manufacture in Russia. The undertaken study suggests that at the present stage the global market of ferrous metals is characterized by high competition, rise in prices for raw materials and energy, consolidation of companies, strengthening of protective measures, rapid development of Chinese steel industry, etc., resulting in the displacement of Russian metal products. The range of problems under consideration is multifaceted.
