Some aspects of outbound tourism in USSR in 1980-1991 (on tourism exchange with capitalist countries)

The article looks into the international legal forms of the collaboration between the USSR and some capitalist countries which were the major partners of the Soviet Union in the tourism sphere. It comprises the geography of tours and the major types of the outbound tourism in the USSR in 1980-1991. Besides the article names the outbound tours developers and organizers and analyzes the social stratification struc-ture of soviet tourists going abroad. The au-thor attempts at analyzing the problems and flaws of the outbound tourism in the USSR against the contemporary background.
