Some aspects of the influence of works by N. Berdyaev and archpriest Sergei Bulgakov on the theology of culture of protopresbyter Alexander Schmemann

The theology of culture of protopresbyter Alexander Schmemann was not a chance and not on an empty place. Among the Russian thinkers who obviously influenced him, it is certainly necessary to distinguish the philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev and the theologian and philosopher archpriest Sergei Bulgakov. This article is devoted to the consideration of some aspects of this influence. N. Berdyaev was one of the powerful preachers of the religious nature of creativity, father Alexander continues and develops his ideas, avoiding extremes, but agreeing on the main thing - theology closer to art than to strict academic science. Father Sergei Bulgakov in this article interests us, first of all, - with the idea of possibility of “negative” (in the spiritual plan) creativity, such “ungraceful” creativity is attributed to Bulgakov to the known artist Pablo Picasso. This approach is continued by father Alexander Schmemann, in particular, in its most rigid attitude to the creativity of the “Beatles” and rock in general
