Some features of irony as the means of linguistic manipulation on the example of “TED conference”

The author analyzes the possibility of using irony as an effective means of linguistic manipulation. It influences the speech of students in terms of Rhetorics. The author refers to the foreign experience of holding “TED conferences” that were created for different types of audiences. They contain popular science and interdisciplinary reports providing relevant material.
