Changes in the properties of oleic acid (OC) after ultrasonic treatment have been studied. It has been established that ultrasonic action increases the solubility of oleic acid in mineral oil I-20A, has an ambiguous effect on the protective properties of OK, which depend not only on the ultrasonic treatment mode, but also on the type of corrosive medium. By refractometry it was established that with ultrasonic treatment of OC without thermostating, some intermolecular rearrangement of associates takes place, the maximum of which is observed when ultrasound is processed for 20-25 minutes. The effect of ultrasonic treatment of OC of different origin and degree of purification on its kinematic viscosity and wetting contact angle is established. All detected changes in the properties of OK are irreversible for a long time (more than a year).
