Some peculiarities of extremism development in the North Caucasus region

The article analyzes the processes of emergence and development of religious extremism in the North Caucasus region at the turn of the 1990-s. The paper deals with the basic prerequisites of the extremism in the region. Also, the author considers the external influences on the formation and specific features of Islamic radicalism in the North Caucasus regions of the Russian Federation.
