The authors consider some aspects of the medical care for soldiers of the ethnic military formations in the Russian army during the World War I. In particular the article investigates several problems with the regular medical and sanitary care in Polish, Latvian and Armenian military units. These facts allow authors to identify the complexity and uniqueness of this process in organization of the medical evacuation, sanitation and supplying with hygiene goods for ethnic groups in the course of their volunteer manning, when the number of healthy workers was minimal. And as the authors note, after the full-fledged army units were established, the number of doctors, paramedics and hospitals has reached the norm. In addition, the article reflects unsatisfactory sanitation and hygiene in the places of ethnic troops’ localization.
