Neurocognitive aspects of youth work behavior

The article examines individual social and cognitive aspects of the formation of work behavior as interrelations between the activity of the socio-psychological system and professional choice, the position of rationality of decision-making. Theoretical studies emphasize that aspects of motivation, workplace adaptation, labor productivity, and professional choice have a biological basis and can be studied using physiological methods (for example, brain activity analysis). The biological nature of a person, which determines the cognitive aspects of behavior, as well as the social environment, shapes labor behavior, influences professional choice, motivation of employees, and their ability to adapt to the workplace, the workforce, and working conditions in general. Understanding the social and cognitive aspects of work behavior makes it possible to develop professional diagnostic programs, career guidance, motivation systems, and working conditions that increase employee productivity and adaptation. Sociological research methods – conducting a survey (questionnaire toolkit) followed by the use of methods for primary statistical evaluation of data. The sample was defined as a multi–stage one, at the last stage – a nest (student group). The sample size was 2,500 people annually. The monitoring period of the study was 2001-2019. The study area included major Russian cities and covered all federal districts of Russia as much as possible. The object of the study was students who studied at state and non-state universities. Main results: it was revealed that, against the background of general positive assessments of life and professional prospects, positive expectations of the future were formed over the period under review, which forms the cognitive aspects of youth’s work behavior under the influence of the social environment.
