Some data on the ancient peoples who inhabited the modern territory of Khakassia in N. Ya. Bichurin’s work

The article reviews N. Ya. Bichurin’s work “Collection of Information about the Peoples who Lived in Central Asia in Ancient times”. We believe that the work by N. Ya. Bichurin contains the most complete information about the peoples who inhabited Khakassia from ancient times to the 9th century. Studies on the ancient history of the Khakas are based on Chinese and Arabic written sources, as well as on archaeological materials; in this regard, we have decided to perform a review of N. Ya. Bichurin’s work, precisely in the part presumably containing the data on the Khakas’ ancestors.
