Some issues of the further strengthening the vertical line of power of the Russian Federation

The article attempts to identify and analyze some of the key factors and mechanisms to ensure the unity and vitality of the Russian state on the principles of federalism. It is shown that this objective can be achieved only if the separation of powers and the relationship between the different branches of government are supplemented by horizontal division of competence between the different levels of the vertical line of state power. The author substantiates the thesis that federalization, autonomization or some other form of de-centralization cannot be a factor in undermining the unity, the fragmentation or disintegration of the state. They do not exclude, but complement each other, thereby strengthening the vertical line of power; and their combination provides the unity of the state.
