Non-medicamental rehabilitation methods with the use of enhanced external counterpulsation in patients with ischemic stroke

The article presents the particular selection of programmes for the rehabilitation of patients after acute disorders of cerebral circulation, taking into account the pathogenetic heterogeneity in ischemic stroke. Shows the importance of the application of non-medication methods of treatment along with standard medical therapy. Analysed research data on the use of enhanced external counterpulsation in patients of early and late rehabilitation period. Experience of using procedure confirms the validity of inclusion of enhanced external counterpulsation in a comprehensive individualized program of rehabilitation of patients after ischemic stroke, because it promotes regression of clinical neurological and neuropsychological deficit that leads to improved quality of life of the patient.
