Neologisms of the "appearance" semantic group

This article undertakes a research of neologisms of the «Appearance» semantic group identified in the periodical press for the period of 2005-2008 as regards semantic, derivational and functional aspects. It was found that neo-lexical units of this semantic group are formed with 40 % of borrowings and 60 % of innovations from the elements of the Russian language. This proves the fact that the Russian lexicon is in a constant active process of enrichment.
