Short-term results of surgical treatment for complicated rectal cancer

Short-term results of surgical treatment in 283 patients with complicated rectal cancer were studied. Resectability rate was 73,5 %, the rates of intra- and postoperative complications were 11,7 % and 18,4 %, respectively. The postoperative lethality rate was 7,4 %. Anastomosis failure resulted in lethal outcome in 2 (3,1 %) cases, thus indicating a high reliability of applied methods of one-and two-row invaginated anastomoses
