Direct results of treatment for open injuries of spleen

The study analyzed the nearest postoperative period in 30 patients with open injuries of spleen. The main cause of open injuries of spleen was stab and incised abdominal wounds. The following surgeries were used for open injuries of spleen: splenectomy in 15 (50%) patients, splenectomy with autolientransplantation in 8 (26.6 %) cases; organ preservation surgeries with laser technologies were managed to be used in 7 (23.3 %) cases. Analysis of the nearest postoperative period in patients operated for open injuries of spleen revealed that complications developed in 25 (83.3 %) cases. Analysis of the reasons of post-operative complications showed that its development depended on associated injuries, but not on the nature of the surgery. In the nearest postoperative period death was recorded in 9 (30 %) patients.
