Differentiation of quality and standard of living in Russia: intercountry and regional aspects (2000 - 2009)

This article deals with the differentiation of the quality and standard of living of the population in 2000 - 2008 years between the different countries and regions on the grounds of the system of social standards. The conclusions are made about the relative backwardness of Russia from the most developed countries in the HDI and the relatively high level of inequality in money income. Attention is drawn to high discrepancies between the Russian regions on the purchasing power of money incomes, absolute poverty and inequality indicators of monetary incomes of the population. Identified several threats to the social security of our country, due to low quality and standard of living.
