This article analyzes the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the volatility of stock markets and the emergence of an unprecedented level of uncertainty. We can talk about the onset of the “Age of Uncertainty” not only in the financial sphere, but also in related sectors of human life. Institutional investors, private investors and stock players, due to the unpredictability of the economic shock, cannot come to a consensus on “effective” investment. All market participants understand that the created environment can play in any direction, and even traditional capital preservation tools may be useless in the face of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
