Illegal arms and ammunition trafficking in Russia (genesis and modern state)

Purpose: To study the genesis of the illegal trafficking of arms and ammunition in the newest period in the history of the Russian state. Methodology: System, legalistic, historical, comparative and other methods of scientific research were used. Results: The article analyzes the development and current state of the illegal arms and ammunition trafficking in the Russian state. It is noted that the illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition has become a nationwide problem simultaneously with the development of the revolutionary movement. Considerable attention is paid to the development of the illegal arms and ammunition trafficking in arms and ammunition in the post-Soviet period. As a result of studying the existing points of view regarding the periodization of such trafficking, the author propose modernization of such periodization. Novelty/originality/value: The article has a certain scientific and practical value, since it deals with topical issues of the theory and practice of law enforcement.
