Non-agricultural occupations of the Spass uezd of the Tambov province peasants in the last quarter of the XIX century

The article is devoted to the non-agricultural occupations of the Spass Uezd of the Tambov Province peasants in the last quarter of the XIX century. Economic reasons for the broad address of the crafts by the population are analysed. The population craft activities connected with wood processing are treated. The geography of the crafts as well as their characteristics are presented.
