The article contains the analysis of the wide-known order №227 by the People’s Commissar of Defense of 28 July 1942 which was edited at the difficult time of the Great Patriotic War (the summer of 1942) when the Red Army had been suffered heavy defeats. The author criticizes the falsifications by so-called liberal historians and proves that the Order №227 was cruel but necessary. The character of article is debatable.
