The characteristic of scientific and scientific-organizational activity of N.A. Dzjuban, one of the founders of the water basins' zooplankton science, director-founder of the Kuibyshev biological research station of the Institute of biology of water basins of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1957) which subsequently has been transformed into the Institute of ecology of the Volga river basin is given in the article.
