Normative consolidation of a principle of reasonable time for criminal justice: the history and the present time

This paper considers the problem of compliance with the reasonable period of criminal justice in the history of Russian criminal process. The author refers to the historical experience of solving this urgent problem, in particular, the legislative consolidation of measures aimed at preventing judicial red tape. Based on comparative legal methodology, the author reveals features of the regulatory consolidation of the reasonable period of criminal justice principle in the Russian criminal procedural law, and compares the requirements of procedural rationality in the criminal process.
