The article is devoted to a new discovery of a little-studied species of "tiger" mosquito in the Trans-Baikal Territory in July 2024. This area is not typical for the habitat of the thermophilic species Aedes sibiricus. The first information about the registration of this species in the territory of the region dates back to the seventies of the last century. The article presents: date, time, coordinates and territorial description of the place of capture of this species. The identification of the collected adult specimen of the female Aedes sibiricus blood-sucking mosquito to the species was carried out using an SME-1 stereoscopic microscope using the morphological method. In the article, the found female species Ae. sibiricus is considered as a potential carrier species of arboviruses dangerous to humans that cause vector-borne diseases, which determines the relevance of work on further search and study of the biology of mosquitoes of the subgenus Stegomyia in the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
