New role of universities in development of regions and new industries

An overview of the discussions at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum on the role of education in the development of Russian regions is presented. A new approach to the mission of universities as drivers of regional development is considered. The importance of continuous type of polytechnic education kindergarten – school – the university as a basis the innovative society has been considered. Specific steps to create such type of education education in Zheleznogorsk are considered.
