News of legislation in the industrial property sphere of 2020 and the prospects of its development

The author analyzes the changes made to parts II and IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation in 2020, concerning, in particular, the protection of intellectual rights, the use of electronic digital forms when registering objects of patent law and trademarks, determining the legal regime of objects created under contracts for R&D on government contracts related to defense and security. Considers the prospects for the development of legislation in the direction of expanding the cases of free use of objects of patent law and determining the legal status of patent attorneys.
