New in the organization and normative support of student training in the direction of "Library and information activities"

Analyzed new (2022) list of specialties and areas of higher education training is analyzed in the context of the place of library and information education in it. The prospects for the development of a profile state educational standard of the fourth generation (FGOS VO-4) are considered. The conceptual differences of the future FSES VO-4 in terms of the peculiarities of the organization of the educational process and the independence of universities are highlighted. The requirement to interface the content of educational programs and the competencies formed by them for future industry bachelors and masters with the requirements of the Professional Standard "Specialist in Library and Information Activities" being approved by the Ministry of Labor of Russia is commented.
