The article is devoted to the study of the features of modern piano-performing practice, where, along with traditional philharmonic concerts, new forms of popularization of academic music are developing. The paper emphasizes that in the conditions of the predominance of visual culture and clip thinking, laconism of artistic expression is of special importance. This factor actualizes the genre of piano miniature, the principle of which is revealed in the aphoristic formula - «big in small». Among the most modern formats for the presentation of academic art are programs of a synthetic type with the involvement of the possibilities of literature, theater, cinema, philosophical and conceptual solutions and mini-films, indicating the onset of a new stage in musical culture, when concert events turn into educational historical and cultural events.
