New Jerusalems of Russian North

Research results of the Russian North cultural field are provided in the article. New Jerusalems of the Russian North are presented as a part of Patriarch Nikon’s project on transformation of Russia into a new Holy Land. The research is based on the theory of hierotopy - transfer of sacred environment, creation of New Jerusalems, and images of the Holy Land in the Russian North.
