New sources on socio-political history of the Middle Volga countryside in 1920's

In the paper the published documents of Joint State Political Directorate (OGPU) are examined in accordance with source criticism approach. These documents reveal socio-political position of the Middle Volga village. The contradictory character of relationships between the authorities and society that persisted through the whole period of NEP is researched through the prism of sincerity and reliability of local special services reports, and also through the letters of local citizens.
