New data about birds in the Chagyrskaya cave (Northwest Altai): 2012-2015 excavations

This paper presents а new bird fauna data of the Holocene (1-4) and Neopleistocene (5, 6) layers of Middle Paleolithic regional key-site - the Chagyrskaya cave (excavations 2012-2015). Also ornithological data obtained in 2009 excavations was summarized. There were identified more than 40 species of 17 families of waterfowl, aquatic, steppe and rocky birds. Only in Neopleistocene layers willow grouse, Pallas sand grouse and chough, typical for Neopleistocene of Northwestern Altai and indicating the existence of tundra-steppe and dry steppe were found.
