New archaeological sites of Russian settlement of the Middle Irtysh in the 17th -18th centuries (archaeological survey results)

Archaeologists, who studied of the Russian settlement of the Middle Irtysh, do not pay enough attention to the search and cultural attribution of the newly found sites. They rather conduct excavations of rural settlements and Tara. In the late 20th century, reconnaissance works in the southern regions of the Omsk Province were carried out. In 2012-2013, 2017-2018, archaeological reconnaissance works related to the Russian exploration of the region was conducted in the northern areas. The sites dating to the 19th- early 20th centuries as well as two settlements of the 17th-18th centuries: Kabuzaska and Mameshevo, which produced interesting artifact collections, were located. Test excavations were carried out on the territory of Takmyk Fort in order to identify the boundaries of the site and locate the Fort and the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
