Novel approaches to treatment of superficial bladder cancer with unfavourable prognostic factors

Patients with superficial bladder cancer having unfavorable prognosis received combined modality treatment including early repeated cystoscopy and transurethral resection followed by chemoimmunotherapy on autoblood components. Disease recurrence at a follow-up of 3 years was diagnosed in 13.6% of patients, invasive cancer was observed in 4.5% of patients. Results of the study showed a significant reduction in the rate of disease recurrence and progression to invasive cancer of unfavorable factors of superficial bladder tumors.
