New ports and transport hubs of Primorsky krai in the plans of the regional authorities in the first half of the 1990s

Based on archival materials, the article examines plans for the construction of new ports, as well as related transport hubs and transit corridors in Primorsky Krai in the first half of the 1990s. The author analyzes the prerequisites for the emergence of the idea to incorporate the ports of Khasansky and Shkotovsky districts into the international transport network, the motives for the participation of government bodies and businesses in preparing proposals for the modernization of transport infrastructure of the region. Particular attention is paid to the factors that determined the impossibility of implementing these plans in the 1990s.
