Morphological descriptions and biological features four new sunflower varieties created by the Siberian Experimental Station of All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops by V.S. Pustovoit. Conducted in 2014-2016 years studies have shown that the new early-maturing high-yield varieties of sunflower: with high oil content - Vektor, Varyag, Uspekh and macrocarpa - Sibirskiy-12, adapted well to the conditions of southern forest-steppe of Omsk region, i.e., able successfully to mature and show a good seed production. The growing season (from germination to physiological maturation) of new varieties was 97-99 days, seed yield - 2.94-3.19 t/ha, oil yield - 1370-1503 kg/ha. The fat content in seeds with high oil varieties - 51.5-54.7%. In large-fruited varieties of the Sibirskiy-12 seed yield was 3.19 t/ha, oil yield - 1370 kg/ha, and the weight of 1000 seeds - 85.5 g. In order to obtain high quality raw materials for the confectionery industry in the Siberian region recommend to cultivate sunflower variety Sibirskiy-12. New varieties of sunflower: Vektor, Varyag, Uspekh and Sibirskiy-12 proposed for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones of Western Siberia. The greatest economic damage sunflower in Western Siberia can cause disease of white and gray rot. The necessary knowledge of their biology, development features and power, as well as comply with all methods of evidence-based sunflower cultivation technologies will allow to obtain a high yield of seeds and reduce the risk of disease manifestations.
