New challenges to the Russian economy in the modern world

The article evaluates the possibilities and prospects for the development of the Russian economy as an element of a geo-economic multipolar system. The possibilities of both the continuation of Russia’s presence in the system of world economic relations in a regular market format, and the prospects for further separation of the country’s economy from the entire global economy or from part of it are assessed. The influence of global trends and the sanctions factor on the most significant aspects of Russia’s foreign economic activity has been studied. Based on the results of the study, a forecast system was developed and recommendations were formulated for adapting Russia’s foreign economic interactions to the conditions of sanctions pressure.
