A new vector of the development of Buryat ethnic identity

The article examines topical issues of the development of Buryat ethnic identity. While the interest of Buryats to communities based on clan and landsman principle is fading, new ideas offering other variants of Buryat integration into certain entities emerge. One of such ideas is the reconstruction of tribal unions.
