The article analyzes the views of Russian religious philosophers on the problem of the meaning of life. Human life is determined by the contradiction between the desire for immortality and the actual mortality. It points up the problem of the meaning of life and makes it the main focus of human existence, namely, the desire for immortality can give the meaning to life. The meaning of life is to transform cosmos, and, first of all, to overcome the death; the meaning of life lies in the cosmic sphere, not in the social one.
