About purposes and problems of historical research

The article deals with the issues of the measure and type of objectivity of historical research, its goals and tasks as a scientific search oriented at revealing the truth, but completely dependent on subjective predilections and social and national interests of social groups with which the researcher identifies himself. The author postulates that since practice in any case is recognized the criterion of truth, the degree of objectivity and fidelity of understanding the history of the past is checked by the effectiveness of actions in the present and the future.The author also asserted that history ceased to be an objective science if it refused to recognize the subjective terms, such as myths, beliefs, feelings and attachments to be historical facts.
