About aluminium effect on wheat seedlings at the various pH values of cultivation medium

On basis of the biotest of «piece of wheat coleoptiles» the phytotoxic effect of different concentrations of aluminium ions at the various pH values of cultivation medium on wheat seedlings were estimated. The mitotic index and also the frequency and the spectrum of chromosomal aberrations during the AlCl3 action on wheat seedlings in connection with medium pH were determined. The reduced biomass of wheat seedlings was revealed under the influence of aluminium ions and pH 3,4-6,0. It was shown, that aluminium ions have genotoxic effect caused the formation of genome, chromatid and chromosome aberrations in the cells of apical meristem of roots.
