Transformations of soils, affected by boggy pedogenesis in the underflooding zone of Kama Reservoir, are examined. It is shown, that speed of swampy soils' transformation mainly depends on 1) speed of changes in the upper soil horizons and 2) speed of moss layer's development/dying-off. An example of peaty oligotrophic soils, that were formed over underlying buried sod-podzolic soils, is presented. An estimate of peat accumulation's speed in high moor soils of underflooding territories is given.
