Purpose: The article is aimed at the examination of some aspects of the interaction of the jury and the lawyers and their impact on people’s sense of justice of the mass in Tsarist Russia. Methodology: The authors used the historical and legal method and of the methods and systematic scientific analysis and synthesis. Results: The article discusses the advantages and the disadvantages of the judicial system in the Russian Empire during the nineteenth and twentieth century. Novelty/originality/value: The paper has a high scientific value, since it was first discussed especially in the pre-revolutionary Russian justice aspect of the problem of justice, the analysis of the speeches of the lawyers (barristers) in terms of their influence on the legal practice of the courts of the Russian Empire.
