The paper examines the influence of geomagnetic activity parameters on the accuracy of magnetic inclinometry during drilling in highlatitude regions. A stable relationship between geomagnetic variations and additional measurement error has been established. It is shown that the deviations of the magnetic declination (ΔD) and inclination (ΔI) can exceed the permissible metrological standards. Diurnal and seasonal irregularities in geomagnetic field variations have been identified, which have a significant impact on the accuracy of inclinometry. For an operational assessment of the suitability of the measurement conditions, an integral tolerance index (IID) is proposed, taking into account the deviations ΔD, ΔI and the Kp index. Recommendations have been developed to limit the use of magnetic inclinometers during periods of extreme geomagnetic activity.
