About the key event of fictional narrative

The article deals with narrative structure of “The Snowstorm” by A.S. Pushkin and the story “On the Way” by A.P. Chekhov in order to identify the so-called “key event” that becomes a center of chronotopic and plot organization of artistic narrative. Identification and further consideration of the role of such event helps clarify the strategy of artistic narrative and clear intention of a work of art as wholeness aesthetic object.
