A religious sociolect of specific character is in the focus of attention. The language of modern Orthodox church members is characterized by certain phonetic, grammatical, word-building and lexical features. It is defined as a settled subsystem of the national language that is marked socially and functions to meet the needs of a group of believers and reflects the theocentric picture of the world.
