Concerning the place of social ecology in sociology

The article presents the notion of social ecology as sociological science. The importance of global issues for understanding the tasks of sociology has been explained. The object, subject and methods of social ecology have been considered. The attention is paid to the methodological problems of social ecology. The role of social institutions in ensuring the balance between society and environment has been established. The specificity of the study of environmental issues of sociology has been shown.
