In the course of preparing a catalogue of coins from the period of the Principality of Moscow under Prince Vasily Dmitriyevich (1389-1425) the authors collected a large number of coins (more than 12000 samples). This numismatic material is divided into two periods separated by a monetary reform conducted early in the 1410s. More than 8600 coins minted in Moscow (central minting) and regional centers of the Moscow Principality (regional minting) are from the earlier period. The paper publishes the coins minted by Prince Vasily I in the regional centers which feature a quadruped animal and a scorpion. The total number of such coins divided into 16 variants is 184. The paper also reviews issues relating to the classification and topography of finds as well as chronology of minting of such coin types (first half of 1390s).
