On the finding of Altai pika (Ochotona alpina Pallas.1773) in Tunkinsky mountain range (Eastern Sayan)

In the western edge of Tunkinsky mountain range (Eastern Sayan) within forest and alpine belt during zoological expedition in June 2006 have been revealed unknown locality of pika presumably differed from Ochotona hyperborea. Three specimens were captured, measured and weighed. The scull materials obtained were measured and investigated in detail for the species determination. According external morphology, sizes and features of body and scull these samples belong to Altai pika Ochotona alpina Pallas, 1773. Animals inhabit upper parts afforest and alpine belts.
